Horseback Riding

2 people horseback ridingHorseback riding is ideal on the County Forest's sandy soils, which are easy on your horse's legs! There is approximately 24 km of horseback riding trails in the forest, linking you to Alnwick/Haldimand roads for more touring.

Please note

  • The County Forest does not have water sources for your horse so be sure to bring lots of your own water. 
  • The Beagle Club Trails are open to horses and all other non-motorized users from March 31 until December 1.

Woodland Trails

Trail Closure Notice: Timber harvest operations are currently underway in the Woodland Trails area.  Purple Finch Trail and the western portion of Black Oak Trail are temporarily closed and will reopen when safe to do so.
