Horseback riding is ideal on the County Forest's sandy soils, which are easy on your horse's legs! There is approximately 24 km of horseback riding trails in the forest, linking you to Alnwick/Haldimand roads for more touring.

Please note the County Forest does not have water sources for your horse so be sure to bring lots of your own water.

Beagle Club Trails

180 Beagle Club Road, Harwood

The Beagle Club Trails range from 1 km to 14 km.

Winter use: Please note from December 1 to March 31, the Beagle Club Trails are open for skiing only.  Woodland Trails remain open to non-skiers in the winter.

Woodland Trails

7363 County Road 45, Roseneath

The Woodland Trails parking and trailhead is located on the east side of County Road 45, across from Woodland Road.

The Woodland Purple Finch (3 km), Black Oak (7.5 km) and Sweet Fern (9 km) loops share some common trail. Users can choose to go right or left at the first split and will find signage for the loops in either direction.
