Diversion

Diversion is an evidenced-based tool focused on developing creative solutions to help keep people out of the shelter system. We know once people enter the shelter system it can be challenging for them to exit.

In Northumberland County, Transition House acts as our coordinated access point. Their role is to assess people for shelter mandate and support them in entering the shelter system - our role in coordinated access is to do that work ahead of time to ensure people we are sending to Transition House truly have no other options we can support them in accessing.
