Campbellford Intersection Changes

New intersection improvements will be implemented in Campbellford on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 to help:

  • Improve traffic flow
  • Reduce congestion on the bridge and downtown
  • Improve public safety by increasing access for emergency vehicles to cross the Trent River

These changes will help improve traffic flow while Northumberland County works on the design for a new Campbellford Bridge in the coming years.

Impacted intersections

  • Queen Street (County Road 50) and Bridge Street West
  • Front Street (County Road 38) and Bridge Street East
  • Bridge Street (County Road 8) and Doxsee Avenue

Changes to pedestrian crosswalks

One pedestrian crosswalk at each end of the bridge will be removed to improve traffic flow. Pedestrians can use the remaining three designated crosswalks at each intersection to safely cross traffic. Please refer to the map below — the red 'X' indicates an existing crosswalk that will be removed as part of these intersection changes.
