Child Care Fee Subsidy

Our Child Care Fee Subsidy program helps make child care more affordable by paying some or all of the cost of child care to the child care provider. There is currently no wait list for Child Care Fee Subsidy in Northumberland.

Who is eligible?

To qualify for Child Care Fee Subsidy, you must:

  • live in Northumberland County
  • have a confirmed licensed child care space at a licensed child care centre or licensed home child care program
  • meet one or more of the following requirements:
    • You are working
    • You are going to school
    • You or your child have an identified special or social need
    • You receive Ontario Works or ODSP, and also meet at least one of the above criteria

Parents with any level of income may be eligible to receive a subsidy, however subsidies are determined based on level of financial need. Even if you are already paying a reduced child care rate through the Canada-Wide Early Learning and Child Care (CWELCC) agreement, you may still be eligible for Fee Subsidy.
