A celebration of diversity at the 2019 Multicultural Festival and Gourmet Ethno-Food Truck Fair

Cobourg, ON – June 18, 2019 – Explore tastes, sights and sounds from around the globe at the fifth annual Multicultural Festival, taking place in Port Hope’s Memorial Park on Saturday, June 29, 2019. In addition to performances and vendors, a Gourmet Ethno-Food Truck Fair will also be included as part of this year’s celebration, offering a variety of delicious international dishes including mouthwatering arepas, freshly wood-fired pizza,  and Vietnamese-Mexican fusion tacos. 

The celebration will begin at 9 a.m. with a Citizenship Ceremony, as over 40 newcomers take their Oath of Canadian Citizenship. Festivities including performances, vendors, and food trucks will then kick-off in the park at 11 a.m. and continue until 9 p.m. Visitors will enjoy diverse musical performances, from First Nations, to Irish, to Latin-American rhythms, and will be invited to take part in free Bollywood and Salsa classes. At 7 p.m., local folk musician David Newland will conclude the festivities with a free concert at the Bandshell.
