Presented in partnership with Regional Tourism Organization 8 (RTO8), the ‘She Owns It’ Conference highlights and celebrates women in business and aims to inspire by sharing the personal stories and experiences of women entrepreneurs.

“The She Owns It Women’s Entrepreneurship Conference offers a great opportunity for women in business to network with like-minded professionals and to further enhance their entrepreneurial skills,” states BECN Business Development Coordinator Kailyn Coupland. “This year, we are excited to welcome a remarkable panel of industry experts to share their motivational stories of success and overcoming challenge. Our keynote speakers include Founder and CEO of Cheekbone Beauty Jenn Harper and the Co-Founders of The June Motel, April Brown and Sarah Sklash.”

Jenn Harper is an award-winning social entrepreneur, leading the way in sustainable cosmetics with her company Cheekbone Beauty, while giving back to the Indigenous community. Following Jenn’s appearance on CBC’s hit show ‘Dragon's Den’ in 2019, Cheekbone Beauty has been gaining popularity throughout North America and is now featured at 52 Sephora locations across Canada.

April Brown and Sarah Sklash left their desk jobs in 2016 to convert a rundown motel in Prince Edward County into The June Motel – a destination that is now globally recognized. After the success of opening their first motel, they have since opened an additional location of The June Motel in Sauble Beach, which was the focus of the 2021 Netflix reality series, ‘Motel Makeover’.

Attendees will also learn how to leverage e-commerce to transform and enhance their small business from Digital Main St. E-Commerce Program Manager Candice Cristovao. During this professional development session, Candice will share valuable insights into the e-commerce landscape, real-life examples of success, and best practices to help you succeed in selling your products and services online.
