Development Charges Information Sessions for Developers

Local development industry stakeholders are invited to attend an upcoming information session to learn more about the draft findings of Northumberland County’s recently-completed Development Charges Background Study.


On January 29, 2020, County Council received the Northumberland County Development Charge Background Study Draft Findings.  The Background Study will be available on the Northumberland County website by February 14, 2020.  

County Council has authorized staff to now proceed with consultation with development industry stakeholders. County Council will also hold a public meeting on the proposed Development Charges bylaw and Background Study, scheduled to occur in March subsequent to these information sessions. Council consideration of the bylaw is anticipated to take place at the April 15th Council meeting.


Northumberland County together with Watson & Associates will be hosting two Developer information sessions to present an overview of the Development Charges Background Study Draft Findings along with the proposed Development Charges bylaw.

  • 10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. at the Ontario Agri-Food Venture Centre – 216 Purdy Road, Colborne
  • 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Northumberland County offices - 600 William Street, Cobourg
