Housing Help website launched as ‘one-stop’ resource for local services and supports

Cobourg, ON – July 22, 2021 – A new resource is now available for those seeking housing help in our community. The Housing Help Northumberland website, officially launched today, is a central source for information about all housing and homelessness services available to Northumberland residents.

“Coordinated access to services and supports is a priority focus for community partners working together to strengthen the housing and homelessness system in Northumberland,” states County Director of Community & Social Services Lisa Horne. “There are local resources available to help people at every point along the housing continuum. However, it can be difficult to know where to begin in the search for information. Creation of a ‘one-stop’ website was identified as a key action in the County’s 10-year Housing & Homelessness Plan to simplify this process for our residents. System partners are pleased to make this resource available to the community.”

Creation of the Housing Help Northumberland website was facilitated by Northumberland County in collaboration with key agencies directly involved with providing services to people experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity. The website brings together a range of information, such as:

  • The supports available if a person requires shelter, housing, food, income assistance, legal assistance and more, and how to access these supports.
  • Frequently Asked Questions about housing and homelessness supports.
  • Local, provincial and national housing and homelessness strategies.
  • Details about community partnerships focused on strengthening the housing and homelessness system.
