‘Oaktober’ event returns to the County Forest

Cobourg, ON – September 5, 2019 –  Community members are invited to visit the Beagle Club Trailhead on Saturday, October 5, to learn about recreation and conservation in the Northumberland County Forest, during the second annual Oaktober event.

Oaktober is a free event focused on learning and fun in nature. Families and outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy:

  • Guided hikes, where staff will share information about how the County protects and maintains the forest and rare Oak Savannah habitat, and how residents can help take care of this important community asset;
  • Children’s activities;
  • A free barbecue; and
  • Musical entertainment.
