Waste and recycling collection suspended for January 17, 2022 due to inclement weather

Cobourg, ON – January 17, 2022 –  Northumberland County is advising residents that, due to weather conditions and safety concerns, all Community Recycling Centres have been closed, and curbside collection of waste and recycling has been suspended for Monday, January 17, 2022.

Affected residents are asked to please remove waste and recyclables from the curbside and place them out again next Monday, January 24, 2022. Collection limits for garbage will be doubled for next Monday from two bags to four. 

Please note that recycling is not accepted in bags. Additional recyclables can be placed in plastic totes or cardboard boxes, with material still separated into papers and containers. Additional Blue and/or Grey boxes can also be purchased for $6 each at any Community Recycling Centre, the Material Recovery Facility in Grafton or the County Headquarters building at 555 Courthouse Road, Cobourg.
