RentSmart

RentSmart is a new program being offered at locations across the county, at no cost to participants. It is designed for landlords, people who are already tenants and those who want to start renting, with the goal of having successful tenancies.

RentSmart covers topics including:

  • Tenant rights and responsibilities
  • Landlord responsibilities and expectations
  • Living with roommates, housemates and neighbours
  • Effective communication skills
  • Budgeting and planning for housing affordability and stability
  • Maintenance do's and don'ts
  • Crisis management, safety and pests

Everyone who completes a session or course will get a letter or certificate to say they have successfully completed RentSmart. Some landlords will see these as a very positive reference!
