Northumberland County has three Community Recycling Centres and one Material Recovery Facility.
Please note: You must be a resident of Northumberland County to use these facilities.

Community Recycling Centres (CRCs)

You may use any Community Recycling Centre (CRC) in Northumberland County to dispose of items such as household garbage, bulky waste items and recyclable materials. The Material Recovery Facility is not a Community Recycling Centre.
Brighton Community Recycling Centre

The CRC in Brighton is also home to the County's only landfill. All household garbage collected curbside comes to this landfill.

Household Hazardous Waste is accepted on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays only.

Material Recovery Facility |
The Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Grafton processes all household recyclables and sells the material to re-manufacturers in North America to make new products. You can also purchase blue boxes, green bins and backyard composters at this location.
Please note: You can not drop off material at this location.

Hope Transfer Station

The Hope Transfer Station is owned and operated by the Municipality of Port Hope and is for Port Hope rural ward residents only.

Wednesday 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
