Leaf and Yard Waste
You may set out leaf and yard waste for curbside collection from April to mid-December by 7 a.m. on the Monday of your designated weeks. Collection can occur any day of the week and does not necessarily occur on the same day as your regular household garbage and recycling collection.

If your regular household waste collection is on:
- Monday you are Area 1
- Tuesday you are Area 2
- Wednesday you are Area 3
- Thursday you are Area 4
Leaf and yard waste is also accepted year-round at any Community Recycling Centre.
2026 collection schedule
Below are the setout days for Area 1. Collection can occur Monday through Friday of that week and does not necessarily occur on the setout day.

Setout requirements
- Have your leaf and yard waste to the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday of your designated week
- Tie brush into bundles no longer than 3 ft. with material no larger than 2” in diameter
- Only use paper yard waste bags – yard waste not in paper yard waste bags will not be collected
- Make sure each bag weighs no more than 40 lbs. (18 kg)
- Roll the tops of bags down to keep out rain and snow
Acceptable materials
- Grass clippings
- Branches and twigs
- Leaves
- Plant material (all soil removed)
Unacceptable materials
- Sod and soil
- Stumps and root balls
- Rocks, stones, etc.
- Plastic of any kind
- Animal feces
