County Headquarters

Northumberland County is an upper-tier level of municipal government that weaves together seven distinct, yet complementary municipalities:

The mayors of each of the seven municipalities form Northumberland County Council.

Indigenous Land Acknowledgment

Northumberland County respectfully acknowledges that we are located on the traditional and treaty territory of the Michi Saagiig Anishinaabeg—the original stewards of these lands and waters, who have sustained their communities here for millennia.

Today, this region remains home to the Mississauga and Chippewa Nations, collectively known as the Williams Treaties First Nations. They are recognized as the modern Treaty and Aboriginal Rights holders in this area, and they continue to uphold their deep connection to this land, along with a legacy of environmental stewardship and responsibility.
